I recently moved from NYC to Durham and found this apartment online. If I had visited it in person, I never would have rented it. While its located near a lot of shopping centers, the apt. is cheap (the saying you get what you pay for is very true in this case!). The apts. are very dark with almost no overhead lighting, cheap cabinets, and you have to rent the washer/dryer separately for $40! Had I known this, I never would have rented it.
Most importantly, this apartment is very UNSAFE! I was robbed twice in 3 months - my car and apartment - and the mgmt. staff didn't care at all. They didn't express any concern for my situation, nor did they notify other tenants about burglary problems.
Do not consider this complex (or any Mission Residential properties) if you are looking for somewhere new to live!

Dear Kelly,
I am so sorry you had such a unpleasant experience at our community. I certainly understand your frustration.
I came to this community in May, and I have been utilizing the Durham Crime Mapper on the Durham Police Dept.'s website to evaluate the level of crime in the area. While I don't want any amount of crime here, it is a fact of life everywhere, especially with the high unemployment rate, so I have met with the District's Commander. He was able to give me some ideas and ways to work with the local police dept. and neighboring apt. communities. While we have had a few vehicle break-ins, other nearby apt. communities and home subdivisions have unfortunately experienced the same.
We will be having a Neighborhood Watch meeting soon, and I only hope we have residents attend that are as interested and committed to their community as you are. I truly appreciate the feedback.
Sincerely,
Maria Mitch, Property Manager

I have to say that Mission Capital Crossing is THE BEST. I have lived here for over 6 years now and I love it and I refuse to live at another apartment community. I can honestly say that the staff is the best all around. Any and every time I go in the office I get great respect and I love that because they have this great open door policy. And every time I have a problem I can call or go to that office and I get treated like I am the number one tenant. That is the way the staff treats all there tenants. When I was out of work for a whole year and a half the manager and the whole team made me feel like I did not have anything to worry about. I have never known an apartment complex go the whole nine yards for their tenants in making sure that there tenant are happy here and that we are proud to call Mission Capital Crossing home. They worked with us and even had payment plans to help us get through tough times. I really appreciate that and these are only a few reasons why I love the staff and the complex.
